Google Research: Applying AI to avoid creating contrails
Abstract
In August 2023, we announced our joint research with American Airlines and Breakthrough Energy to use AI based models to predict contrail forming regions in the sky and avoid them. Contrails are significant contributors to global warming and avoidance is the most available way to reduce impact from aviation.
