Abstract

This presentation focuses on leveraging AI to address the escalating global food security crisis, which has worsened since 2014 and disproportionately affects Africa. A critical challenge for the continent is that 95% of food production is rainfed, making the region highly vulnerable to climate change. The core research mission is to build AI-driven tools to empower communities, specifically through the development of an early warning system for forecasting food insecurity and accelerating climate-resistant plant breeding at scale.
