Every year, floods cause thousands of fatalities worldwide, disrupt the lives of millions, and cause significant financial damages. As part of the efforts to advance AI to address the climate crisis and help communities affected, Google Research has developed AI models to forecast floods.

Wildfires: from research to real-world AI solutions

Ages 10-15, 35-45 min. An in-class experience, students get hands-on experience learning how AI can help detect wildfires. They build their own wildfire detection models using Teachable Machine.
