Ritendra Datta


Ritendra is a Senior Staff Engineer at Google, leading and managing multiple teams in the space of shopping search quality. He completed his Ph.D. degree from Penn State in 2009. His research interests include statistical modeling and machine learning, image content analysis, content-based image search, automatic image tagging, and visual aesthetic quality inference. More recently, he has been interested in structured extraction from free text, automatic query and task classification, and statistical modeling of search users. Prior to Google, he has spent summers at IBM TJ Watson Research Center and Xerox PARC.
