Iulia-Maria Comșa


Iulia is passionate about Cognitive Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence. She wants to find out how a time-based, spiking neural system can sustain higher-level cognition about the world and about itself. She uses artificial models to find out how various aspects of the brain could work, and uses ideas from neuroscience to make artificial intelligence better. Iulia has a PhD in Neuroscience from Cambridge University, where she studied brain dynamics during transitions of consciousness, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Babeș-Bolyai University. Her personal interests include astronomy, philosophy, karate, singing and playing the piano.
