Christopher Shallue


Christopher is a senior research software engineer in the Google Brain team. His research interests span machine learning and science. Christopher is the first person to discover an exoplanet using a neural network, and he has also worked on image captioning, natural language understanding, and large-batch training.

Christopher has been with Google since 2014. He previously worked in Google's Display Ads team for Gmail and Google Maps, where he specialized in machine learning models for ad selection and personalization.

Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (with Honours) from Monash University, Australia, where he did research in permutation and orthomorphism polynomials over finite fields.
