Michael Gygli

I am a Research Scientist working in the group of Prof. Vittorio Ferrari. My research spans Computer Vision and Human Computer Interaction, with the goal of efficient human in the loop learning. Before joining Google, I was the head of Artificial Intelligence at the video editing startup, where I led the efforts to automate the editing process through Computer Vision and Machine Learning. I have obtained a PhD in Computer Vision from ETH Zurich in 2017. During my PhD I have been working on my thesis titled "Interest-Based Video Summarization via Subset Selection", under the supervision of Prof. Luc Van Gool. Additionally, I have published work on Structured Prediction, Audio Event Detection and Multi-Object Tracking.
