Balakrishnan Varadarajan


Balakrishnan Varadarajan is a research engineer and tech lead of the video understanding team in the machine perception group at Google Research. He works on building large scale machine learning classifiers and fusion systems to predict concepts in videos. He has built systems that are currently used by Google-photos and YouTube for improving search and discovery of videos. He recieved his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in October 2011. He has served as a reviewer at a variety of conferences like ICASSP, CVPR, ACM, NIPS.
